  1. Robert (s. of Robert1, who was at Salem, 1636, at Ply. 1638, and subsequently of Mf'd, where he m. Elizabeth Bourne), was b. at Mf'd 1652. He m. in Hing. first, Sept. 30, 1675, Susanna, eldest dau. of Sergeant Daniel Lincoln (II. 449). She was b. in Hing. May 14, 1654, and d. 10 Feb. 1695-96, at the age of 42 yrs. He m. secondly, Feb. 20, 1698-99, Mrs. Sarah (Lewis) Lincoln, wid. of Thomas Lincoln (p. 17), and dau. of James and Sarah (Lane) Lewis. She was b. at Barnstable March 4, 1660-61, and d. in Hing. 30 Jan. 1731-32, at the age of 71 yrs. He d. 18 may, 1741, at the age of 89 yrs. In his will, made 17 March, 1737-38, proved 2 June, 1741, gives "to son Josiah all my houses and lands in Weymouth; to son Thomas all my housing and home lands in Hingham." He also gives to dau's Susanna Nichols, and Hannah Cushing; and to gr. sons Josiah Capen and Robert Capen. "Housewright." Resided on Fort Hill St.

              v.  Robert, Nov. 14, 1684, d. 3 Nov. 1703.
             vi.  Josiah, Nov. 23, 1687, m. Feb. 20, 1711-12, Elizabeth March, and settled in Wey. In his will,
                   dated at Wey. 18 Sept. 1772, proved 6 Aug. 1773, gives "to brother Thomas Waterman of
                   Hingham;" "to cousin Hannah Ford of Pembroke," and "to cousin Sarah Baker of Pembroke."
                   Also "to cousin Josiah Waterman, whom I brought up, and who now lived with me, all my
                   houses, barns, homestead, and lands in Weymouth, Hingham, Hull, or Abington;" also money
                   and bonds.

  2. Thomas3 (Robert2, Robert1), was b. in Hing. Jan. 19, 1701-2, m. Nov. 20, 1729, Mary, dau. of John and Hannah Beal. She was b. in Hing. May 7, 1710, "and both husband and wife were buried together the same day." Resided on Fort Hill St. Their gravestone in the Fort Hill cemetery bears the following inscription: --

                   Resided at Wey., where he d. 16 Jan. 1795, at the age of 60 yrs. His gravestone
                   in the old cemetery at Ea. Wey. bears the foll. lines:--

                                    Prepare for Death and you will find
                                    That God is infinitely kind."

             iv.  David, Dec. 7, 1736, m. Feb. 15, 1787, Elizabeth Lincoln, dau. of Levi and Elizabeth (Norton)
                   Lincoln (II. 480). She was b. in Hing. July 29, 1765, and d. 16 Apr. 1837,
                   at the age of 4 72 yrs.
              v.  Sarah, 1739, d. 28 Oct. 1743, at the age of 4 yrs.
             vi.  Lydia, bt. Apr. 18, 1742, d. 10 July foll.
            vii.  Robert,* Aug. 30, 1743.

              ix.  John, bt. July 12, 1747, d. 12 Feb. foll.
               x.  Lydia, Dec. 25, 1748, m. Dec. 14, 1769, Noah Hersey.
              xi.  Elizabeth, June 22, 1753, m. Oct. 31, 1776, Heman Lincoln (II. 480).

       * The date of Robert's death, with several added lines portraying the uncertainties of life for even a day, is given upon a moss covered stone in the Fort Hill cemetery as foll.:--

  3. Thomas4 (Thomas3, Robert2, Robert1), was b. in Hing. May 4, 1731, m. Dec. 9, 1762, Lydia Lincoln, dau. of Josiah and Susanna (Lincoln) Lincoln (p. 5). She was b. in Hing. March 9, 1735-36, and d. 3 Aug. 1812, at the age of 76 yrs. He d. 9 Aug. 1797, at the age of 66 yrs. "Farmer." Resided on Fort Hill St. In his will of 29 July, 1796, provides for w. Lydia; gives "to son Robert all my dwelling-house and land after his mothers decease;" he also gives to dau's Mary Stodder and Lydia Waterman; and to gr. dau. Hannah Waterman Smith. Appoints "friend Noah Hersey, executor." Joshua Lincoln and George Lincoln were witnesses to this will.

              ii.  Mary, Dec. 14, 1765, m. Oct. 10, 1790, Stephen Stodder, widower.
             iii.  Hannah, May 22, 1768, m. May 4, 1795, Hobart Smith, and d. 13 Apr. 1796, at the age 28 yrs.
             iv.  Lydia, Dec. 9, 1770.
              v.  Robert, Aug. 17, 1773, m. Nov. 19, 1797, Hannah French, dau. of Theodore and Mehitable
                   (Lewis) French. Robert was drowned from a small boat at Nantasket Point,
                   6 June, 1798, at the age of 25 yrs. Mrs. Hannah Waterman, his wid., m. (2)
                   Oct. 20, 1801, Theophilus Wilder, Jr. of Passamaquoddy, ME.
