If you are reading this, you are almost certainly a member of the Frank family. As you will read below, this is a developmental site being used to prepare a Frank Family genealogy book. The URL for the site is being made available only to members of the family with the hope and expectation that members will review and contribute to what is being written.

FRANK FAMILY
A
Book of Our American Frank Family
by
Dick Harrington
THIS SITE IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION: The material that follows is an experiment
involving the preparation of a genealogical book on line. The book covers the time period since our
first known Frank ancestor, Oscar Frank, immigrated to America about 1840. An objective of this book is to document the
lineage of Oscar Frank and some additional family lines that relate directly to
the Frank line. Several of my
contemporary relatives have made major contributions to this effort;
particularly, in the identification of contemporary relatives and events.
There are two reasons for putting this
"work under construction" on the Internet. The first is to facilitate sharing the information that has been
gathered, with all who are interested in the subject. It is difficult to share all the collected information among the
many members of the family if the information is resident only on my
computer. With the information posted
to the Internet, however, it is available to anyone who wishes to access
it. Further, it is available for those
who may wish to copy parts or all of it.
Since this is a 'work under construction,' however, you are cautioned
that any or all of the material on this site is subject to change -- in fact, I
can assure you that most of it will be changed as more information is added,
corrected, or supplemented. I will
endeavor to post a date on the 'Table of Contents' for each component of the
site indicating the last date on which it was revised.
The second reason for putting this "work under
construction" on the Internet is to request your assistance in making it
as complete and accurate as possible.
Visitors to this site (who for now will all be family members) are
encouraged to comment on, add to, or subtract from the material that they find
there. There are many holes in the
information and you are encouraged to help fill them. Please send any and all comments to my e-mail address which is: [email protected] since
I will be the only person who can write to the site.
There are three or four ways that you can
navigate through the names on this site.
You can start with the first name on the list, which is Oscar Frank
(1825 - 1890) and by going to the end of the material on Oscar, you can click
on the next person in series. You can
do this until you finish all members in the book. Alternately, if you wish to use the Descendants Outline, you can
scroll until you come to a person you are interested in reading about and click
on their name (if it is highlighted in light blue). Still another way to get to a name, is to go to the alphabetical
index and click on a name. The
alphabetical index lists people by their first names. You can also use combinations of the above.
